3.1

Research is when you increase your knowledge on something that you may only know little about or nothing about. the reasons why we do research is to back up our work with evidence mainly out of books or the internet but when researching on the internet you have to be careful that the page is legit and not just been written by any person as the internet has the power where anyone can be writing stuff that may not be necessarily be true.

Research is used when you plan to start a project but doing research into the type of audience your aiming for as this is a main thing because the audience are the people who will be viewing/paying your work, also you research the market on how you are going to sell your product,

There are many ways you can do research:

Questionaires
A questionaire is a form that have questions on them and they will simple be handed out and filled in they either will be tick boxes or where you would write a few lines to explain your answer.

Questionnaires are a good way to get information from the public viewer

Primary Research is something that consists of a collection of original data this normally will come from things such as interviews & focus groups, you will get 1st hand information  from the person themselves.

Interviews are a great idea to provide information as you can ask the things that you need to know also they are normally on a 1 to 1 basis so this give your more of a personal and in depth conversation this can get your opinion across easier as there is not a group of people at the same time.

Focus Groups is part of qualitative research, in a focus group its like an open interview with more people discussing there ideas

Secondary Research is when you collect data that has already been put together by somebody else which can be found from materials such as books, magazine & newspapers also there are many more, the information has already been documented and put together when you find it. This information can be used in your work aslong as you state clearly where you found the information
